1. 2 Years

Has been using Compaq Presario V3000 (AMD + NVIDIA) for about 2 years. Nicely designed laptop, breakable, changed motherboard 2 times and more to come, graphics card reaches high temperature easily, scratched easily, beautiful lcd, battery lasts roughly 2 hours (6 cell-battery), bought extended warranty (3 Years)

2. Advantages
Cheap laptop with sleek design.

3. Disadvantages
Graphics card heat easily and causes computer to be unable to boot.

4. HP Lies
Found out that the defect is a worldwide matter. Due to Nvidia chips. Found out when returned from HP center with motherboard changed, new bios flashed, motherboard replaced are refurbished with no serial number (Serial No. = NSN), temperature constants at 70-80 degree celcious when idle. Temperature reaches more than 100 degree celcious when playing games. Sometimes can even reach 120-130 degree celcious. HP refuse to change to a compatible motherboard or exchange with an equivalent laptop, refused to change from AMD to Intel (motherboard) with additional cash.

5. 3 Months
Replaced system boards (mobo) by HP will last about only 3 months +. After 3 months, failure is likely to occur and if warranty has expired, HP refuse to repair for free. However, according to HP Lies http://www.hplies.com/ , some have been able to get their mobo replaced for free. But the problem will occur again because of the design defect by Nvidia chips.

6. Self repair
People has been able to repair their own boards without sending their laptops to HP Center due to various reasons such as warranty has expired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2z2FqZusjY

7. HP extended warranty

8. Signs that mobo has failed / need to be replaced
Wireless not detected. No display on LCD. Beeps.

9. Underclocked GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)
According to HP Lies, some users have identified that their GPUs have been underclocked to prolong the life of the motherboards before they fail so that their boards fail after the warranty period.
